The Old Folks Home

The IRS is infuriating. We should have gotten our tax return long ago. At first, they claimed it had already been paid. Nope. They reviewed it, then flagged it for fraud. Every 60 days, we get a letter stating that it's under investigation for fraud, and won't be paid until the investigation is resolved.

Here's what we think happened. Dd was still continuing her education, and didn't earn enough to get a tax return. We claimed her kids, which we've done before, with never a problem. The first letter is the telling clue, that it's already been paid. We suspect the children's biological dad, illegally claimed the kids, and IRS paid it. At this point, we're unsure whether they know he claimed them illegally.

Of course, IRS won't disclose anything to us, otherwise we could provide court documentation that he's not entitled to claim them. Maybe they do know now that his claim was illegal. Do we have to wait until they try to recover the money, or prosecute him? I don't know, but we sure could use the money.

With all the high humidity from the rain, and the heat, it's wreaking havoc on our stored feed. We get fresh feed, and in a week, it's moldy. No, it's not expired, nor does it happen all year. I'm thinking along the lines of something like Damp Rid in the bins, without letting it touch the feed itself. Any thoughts, or solutions you may have, are welcome.

Do they sell the feed you like in smaller portions? Probably more expensive that way but not really if you're having to throw away feed.
