The Old Folks Home

Our average first frost date is October 15 and it looks like we will hit it on the head this year.
It has been so dry that the leaf color is more brown and dropping than changing. The sumac and hazelnuts are trying but look nothing like previous years. IMG_1190.jpeg

We got a whole 2 eggs today. 6 yesterday. Slowly but surely a new crop of pullets are starting to lay. I am especially proud of a special pullet named Lookup. She had wry neck so bad she looked straight up with her neck leaning straight back down her backbone. After a lot of medication she is 100% cured and was one of the first of her age group to lay.
Be sure to supplement regularly. It can come back.
