Anyone ever dealt with trigger finger? I had it on my left thumb, had it fixed surgically.

Sometimes after digging/pitchforking a lot of soil, I'll have a trigger finger-type reaction in a finger the next morning. I have found that keeping my hand flat over night (resting palm on the mattress while I sleep), TF doesn't develop.

I developed it in one of my thumbs after an awkward bout with a garlic press where I actually heard the tendon pop. Steroid injection (twice) and it abated on its own, which is good. Nobody needs a permanent "thumbs up!"...although the permanent bird to flip might be useful.

Yes I’ve had that happen! I think I had been doing knife work, chopping vegetables for canning or something like that. It affected my pinky and ring finger on my right hand. Maybe I had been doing farm labor beforehand, I just remember it happened when I was using a chef knife.

Thankfully the only knife wound was I bought a new knife.
Was real sharp sliced one finger real clean.
