We retired going on 11 years ago now and as a friend who had retired 5 years earlier told us, welcome to retirement, where there are 6 Saturdays followed by a Sunday!

Also, you retire so you can keep all of your doctor's appointments!

After having surgery in May to rebuild and repair three tendons in my right shoulder and biceps muscle I'm starting to believe that one.

Truthfully, we love retirement. The money sucks but it took us about a year to figure out that we work harder retired than we did when we were working.....except no pay day!!! Whoda thunk?

I told hubby when we retired that we weren't going to suddenly start spending our savings. I said, "We worked that hard so that we wouldn't have to work that hard, ever again."

But neither do we want to die and leave a pile left behind that we could enjoy now.

I'm back. Some major hassles here with a power surge/brownout and cable loss, but we are okay, and house did not get destroyed - only 'stuff' in it.
