The Old Folks Home

Had knee surgery was in brace hip to ankle like 3 days after surgery I walked in for post checkup handed him my brace.
After back surgery I was back to work in two weeks. I did not use a walker or a brace. It might be different now that I am older though.

Probably would, Ron. I was 6 weeks in a sling/brace and could only have it off to do excises/PT. Longest 6 weeks of my life, lol.

I had hurt my shoulder last summer while riding my dirt bike. Knew it was bad. Couldn't lift my arm away from my body. DH was having some health problems so I just babied it around till I saw my doc in October. He said I had hurt my rotator muscle the trapezius, and told me to use ice/heat and Voltarin rub. I did. All winter. Shoulder got worse, more painful and lost range of motion. Went back to doc in April and he immediately shipped me to the orthopedic surgeon. I hadn't just hurt the Trapezius muscle, I had torn the Supraspinatus and the infraspinatus tendons away from the bone and torn the biceps tendon. Next thing I knew I was at the hospital getting prepped for surgery. Fun Fun....

It's been an interesting spring and summer.

What a long time of pain for you!

One of my Uncles had a car fall on his shoulder. He ignored it too long and in order to fix the break, they had to break his bone again!

I will need knee replacement soon and was told to get it done before age 70 due to healing issues after that age.

Quote from my physical therapist. "I'd rather have two knee replacements than 1 shoulder surgery." He says the pain from the shoulder surgery and rehab is horrendous while the art of knee replacement is advancing in leaps and bounds. In Fact, I knew our UPS delivery guy was looking at a knee replacement and asked him if he had ever had it done. He sure had and proceeded to jump up and down the steps of his delivery van and then down to the ground where he jumped up and down and told me how great it was.

I was in the sling/splint at the time and wondered why I hadn't hurt my knee instead of my shoulder. :idunno
