The Old Folks Home

Tonight is the last cool(ish) night. Tomorrow starts the heat wave, with incoming humidity.

Widget, please get over being broody! I don't want to worry about you in the broody breaker crate when it's 96°!
I remember when I was about a time when I was an ambitious 20 or thereabouts. We were living in Southern MI then. One 4th of July were part of a gang that went out to a local park to party with coolers of soft drinks supplemented with
fried chicken
and lots of other needed things to fuel our bodies during those child bearing years. We had a football and started to play while the ladies chatted and soon started setting a tables for our feast. Would you believe we hat to wear sweaters and wind breakers to survive the cold? The sad thing was by August the Detroit Free Press was reporting the daily death count caused by the heat wave.
