It is a big tourist trap lol They run a huge flea market all summer long all kinds of shops uptown. People come from far and wide! They have a big theater I guess you would call it all kinds of bands come there. A lot of them from the 70`s which was my time!

I had plans to go to the Lake Michigan shoreline with friends to go rock hunting. But there is the possibility of thunderstorms in the afternoon, so we rescheduled. Thunderstorms coming in off Lake Michigan can be big and severe. They can also fall apart as they cross the water and cheat us out of much needed rain.

That sounds like a good call!

Down here at the bottom of northern california, we are getting lower temps. Most of the storm is much further north.

Yes, but I’ve never been there. I have friends who went for the touristy stuff.
Long ago, in a galaxy/“previous life” far away, I knew some harness racing trainers and drivers from there.

We live about ten miles from there! Yeah, harness racing is pretty big around here with the large Amish community!

There was a traveling Shipshewana that came to Grand Rapids 30+ years ago. I was excited to go. I was sorely disappointed. It was an oversized flea market of cheap crap. I don't think there was any home made stuff at all. I saw a booth of yarn (which interested me, being a spinner and knitter) and it was all Red Heart! (Brand name, acrylic) It looked like they'd cleaned out a K-mart or some other discount store to just resell.
