I love the color of these eggs. I am going to cross an EE to a BCM rooster and see what I can end up with. But it will be awhile...my BCM's are only a week old!!!!

some of my EE cross black copper pullets are layer. I have six pullet out of one of my favorite EE hens that got killed by dogs. She layed a blue green egg leaning close to blue. But was regular combed. So far 2 of the six pullets are laying pinkish color eggs. Hoping some of the other pullet lay olive colored eggs. PS those 6 pullets are carbon copies of each other.
Back to drawing board.
Picking up my turkin eggs Monday I hope have A black copper eggs, and some green and blue eggs to put in the bator By Wednesday. Swore I wasn't going to hatch anymore I am addicted I guess. T
he hens out running loose are with 3 roosters , Yarddog a EE, red , EE and BCM , he has a pea comb and beard, and a BCM rooster.
Need to get a new crop of EEs in March for more colored eggs. Darn dogs
I would love to get some Olive Eggers too! Love the colors! I only have Welsummers but you can be sure I'll be getting some Amercuanas again! I missed mine! Don't know which route I will take getting some LF or BF or a bit of both.

Hi there EweSheep!
Everyone is welcome to join... no restrictions breedwise or otherwise
.
From what I've gathered people are using variety of different breeds to create their Olive Eggers and as far as I know, there are no rules. So far I've only heard of people using Dark Brown Egg Layer Breeds like Marans, Welsummers, Barnevelder and Penedesenca... with Blue Egg Layer Breeds like Ameraucanas, Araucana and Easter Eggers... but I would not be at all surprised if I've missed a couple. I was reading the other day about some these really interesting blue (and green) egg layer breeds I'd never heard on the Feathersite, here is the link in case you are curious http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Rapa/BRKRapanui.html
Anywho, I would love to have you join the Olive Egger Club.
on the spot, love the hen i have done allot of research on chickens almost albreeds never have herd of a barred ee.if the father or mother was a cukoo maran it would give here great deep green egg color. but once your get it refined the wayyou want it i would call mury mcmurry and maby send them some sample pics.they might like it
