The Olive-Egger thread!

I think every olive egger I set hatched! Tomorrow will be the real story, but I think I will be selling some Olive Egger.

Peach2U are you out there????????? Most of your babies hatched and what colors!!!! Some look with with lavender chipmunk strips..... I think I will keep all the ones with pea combs and maybe the others too, just to see what they will look like THANK YOU!!!!!!!

These are all from the same hen. An f1xf1. The first egg is a blown out egg from around easter. She's been laying for about 6 months and I think she's running out of paint! They were all consistantly speckled dark green until recently! If I had more then 1 laying eggs or old enough to lay I'd think it was 2 chickens laying.

She was broody a few weeks ago but I broke her without meaning to. She's got another clutch going though and growls at me whenever she see's me.

This is an olive egger pullet I hatched quite a few weeks ago. She is filling out very nicely! I wish I had many more of her, but alas, she is the ONLY OE pullet I hatched. I've had a very male heavy year. Her mother was a black copper marans, and her father a splash Araucana. She is cleanfaced and rumpless, with partially feathered legs.

Her beak is all funky because part of her lower mandible was broken off by a raging turkey tom. Happened when she was a week old. But she can eat and drink just fine, though I need to keep her upper beak trimmed, or else it will overgrow.

I have heard this alot this year. must be something in the air.

I'm not sure if this is covered earlier in this thread, but has anyone had rumpless/tailless OE hatch from Black Copper Marans roos on Ameraucana hens?
I've hatched several this spring. I would assume they are probably from the same hen.
