The Olive-Egger thread!

Lovely egg!

I've had Wheaten OEs before & loved them, because of a move & going back to school I had to rehome a lot of my birds... but I'm settled again and want color in my egg basket again.

One of my Wheaten OEs from the past...

Her egg is the one at 6 o' clock in this pic.

Beautiful hen. I love your egg pic too! The shavings make a good background.

excited to start hatching again.
My Olive eggers I hatch consist of Crele Penedesenca and silver Ameraucana
I also have some of the first cross hens in with the Crele penedesenca rooster which will be going into the incubator as soon as there laying starts up

Me Too!! .....and I get to start earlier than planned as I have hen gone broody out in the coop!!

Will give her eggs only from my blue laying EE covered by Welsummer cockerel.

Will make separation of other crosses easier to segregate in the incubator end of Feb.

i usually hatch all the time but last year we kept loosing power haha
I have Brown Red Ameraucana in the incubator now then Black Penedesenca
Hopefully they will be laying after that

Im tempted to put Brown Red Hens in with either my crele , black or Partridge Penedesenca and see what I get

Green? Blue? It's super pale but I have two other Easter eggers that lay similar colors but less pastel and definitely brighter! Could I still get an olive egger with one of these hens and a dark egg layer or no?!

Super pale is not what you want to get OE. Very blue X dark brown will get you OE. EE may or may not have two blue egg genes, which is what you need to guarantee OE in the first generation.
