The Olive-Egger thread!

my female chicks usually develop tail earlier but it seems this is not a case with easter eggers. another thing that helps is wattles, again not with easter eggers and their crosses. patience, time will tell!

Yeah, we are holding out hope for the two red ones. The white one is a rooster.

On mid February I made a nice trip of 3 hours away to pickup some olive eggers, ameruocanas and marans chicks. I also got some eggs of the same to incubate.
Long story short, I lost all chicks do to predators and weather. Then the eggs hatched and I seemed to have had cocci. Only two survived and it looks like they are boys.
Now they are around 8 weeks,oe. My question is how do I breed them to get my olive eggs some day? :(
Or do I need to start all over again?

I know their mutts and looks can vary, but - does anyone have any My Pet Chicken Olive Egger photos? I added a couple to meet my minimum chick order and just looking at potential adult feathering and such.

Thanks..

I also have a big boy. Maybe a ameruocana or easter egger, he does have the pea comb, black greenish legs and bear. His colors are black and kinda copper on neck. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Gorgeous boy. How do I breed him and how do I know if he's pure?

I'm a beginning backyard chicken farmer. This site says to limit the breeds you have to a favorite one, yet you all are talking about all these different breeds you have. I'm confused.

Only ONE breed? Now where did you see that? There are so many breeds, how could you ever limit it to one? I have ummm, how many breeds and I still have several on my "must have" list.
