The Olive-Egger thread!

I personally like having variety the most. I have an F1 olive egger rooster that I crossed with hens that lay green, olive, blue, and dark brown. I got all kinds of shades from lighter green, sage, grayish, olive, and weird khaki brownish. Unfortunately, I quickly lost track of which offspring came from which hen, so if I wanted more sage, just say, then I'm not sure which hen to use. I'm thinking this spring I will just cross him with a variety of hens again.

I have a really pretty EE boy, has more of a noodle comb than a pea comb so not sure what colors his daughters are going to lay. He just started crowing so that will be awhile. But he has every color of the rainbow on him; red, yellow, green, black, white, some purple and green sheen..... I was thinking it would be fun to have a whole flock of rainbow birds that lay rainbow eggs ;-)

Nice. Your roo sounds beautiful. Mine is gray(blue) with just a little blonde in his hackles. Almost all of his offspring were blue too, which makes it hard to tell them apart. One is black, one splash, one blue with copper, one blue with tufts, and three blue with darker necks. I call them the triplets, although one has a tiny bit of feathering on her legs, but that's hard to spot when they're in the nest box!

Woo hoo! Got my first blue egg today!
I got two roo's & 4 pullets from a neighbor. I know they're EE's but they didn't know breeds/mix. This is the rooster and one of the girls I got from them. She layed her 1st egg today & yea, it is blue! !

I saw a post in "animals in need of free re-homeing" saying that his rooster was an americauna. He looked just like the two roosters I got with the pullets. Does anyone think the girl that layed my blue bullet shaped surprise could have Americauna in her?

Almost ALL EE have Ameraucana in them. Yours KINDA look like Silver Ams, but they are not really correct for they color type so still EE. IF they breed true you will be lucky, they are pretty. Poor Ameraucanas but VERY pretty Easter Eggers. I would like to have some that look like that, especially if they breed true..... very striking to me.

So happy you said that. I just got 5 wheatons last week.
However I guess I will have to wait & wish since they are only 3 weeks old & straight run. Darn! LOL
thanks all!
