The Olive-Egger thread!

Quote: I also have wheaten AM but I will be putting them under my wheaten Marans. I have two OE's laying beautiful olive eggs that will be under home also. See what I get.

Sphinx- You may have to start a new thread.....The Avocado Eggers. These are the nicest green eggs I have ever seen!!!

Mstricer- I hatched a Wheaten AM/French Wheaten Marans about 6 weeks ago. I am hoping for a furry legged wheaten OE with a beard. The leg band slipped off and having trouble picking it out of the Wheaten Marans chicks.......will post pics if I ever figure it out.

AZBootsie, like this?

Just had to come share since I've done alot of whining around the forum. This is my OE, Adobo. We have had her since 10/12. She has layed a total of 6 eggs in that time. The last
time she layed an egg was about 2 months ago. We had just about given up until I checked the nest box today expecting to find two from our RIR and Australorp. SURPRISE - Adobo
came through with this crazy looking thing. She just cracks us up. She's the largest of the 3 hens and layed the wackiest looking egg. Thanks for letting me share. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I posted pics of my supposed OE pullets. Gwen is getting a thicker beard and muff. - I thought she might be getting pointy hackle feathers, but around the black center of each feather there is a rounded white halo. No crowing yet, comb is a bit pinker, but not really bigger. Her legs are still pinky-white. She has an attitude and gets pecked on the head for impertinence.

Osprey, below, is still mellow, hangs out with the Legbars, and hasn't changed much. Comb is a pinker and her face is starting to get a bit pink. I have a feeling she is older than 11 weeks

How much longer do you think I need to be stressed about having cockerels? I'm really afraid one could start crowing next week while I'm on vacation, and someone could call the city on me :(

Im so excited about my OE chicks! I crossed my blue barred crested frizzled OE roo with my CL hen. Here is dad:

Babies are hatching out white and light blue chipmunk and at least half are frizzled! I hope they get little crests too :)

One chick in particular is the cutest. S/he has old man eyebrows! Also kind of looks like a little Neanderthal. Ive never seen any chick with these bushy eyebrows before. I cant wait to see how it turns out. looks like its going to be frizzled.

Way to go Adobo!

The first eggs after they start back up are weird looking. I hope she starts firing on all cylinders soon!
