The Olive-Egger thread!

yeah much better, thanks.. .... Except for that Redish egg on the bottom right corner, how can you expain that?

Edit I think you may want to change that Redish egg for a Tan egg as it would be the product of Brown and white fighting each other
Thanks for the explanation and correction. I had the redish egg on the bottom based on the explanation given on the first post I quoted:
"...you're going to get anything and everything from normal olive green to normal dark reddish brown to anything else, including blue, mint green, green/brown speckled, avocado skin green, emu egg turquoise, etc..."

But I think the dark brown can cover that... :)

Let's try this again then:

Hi all,
wondering about these crosses:
I have
A black copper marans rooster or
a Blue copper marans rooster

Over a blue wheaten or wheaten AM hen
And also a chocolate AM hen

Can anyone tell me what colored chicks I could get with these crosses
Loving the Olive Eggers :)

Black Copper x Blue Wheaten = 25% BCM roos, 25% BCM hens, 25% Blue CM roos, 25% Blue CM hens

Blue Copper x Blue Wheaten = 25% Blue Copper hens, 12.5% Splash Copper hens, 12.5% Black Copper hens,25% Blue Copper roos, 12.5% Splash Copper roos, 12.5% Black Copper roos,

Blue Copper x Wheaten = 25% BCM roos, 25% BCM hens, 25% Blue CM roos, 25% Blue CM hens

Black Copper x Chocolate = 25% Black roos, 25% Black hens, 25% Blue roos, 25% Blue hens
But these guys will be carrying Chocolate. If you breed a blue cockeral from this mating back to the Chocolate mother you can then get mauves/khaki (blue and chocolate gene) and chocolate, blacks and blues. You may have some red bleed through.

This is using the Kippenjungle calculator.
Here is what the Splash Copper Marans look like:
