The Olive-Egger thread!

...and simply inaccurate.........but, alot of Olive Eggers do have Ameraucana's as one of their parents.
They are pretty though...

An olive egger is an Amauracana that lays Olive green eggs (put simply)
Heres a pic of a few of my girls that olive it

What did you mix to get that pretty white?

I just have to show off my pullet that Labelle, my GL Polish, hatched out. She is such a good momma, and she still has eggs expected to hatch out tomorrow. The chick is a cross between and OE and an EE, and I'm excited to see what color she will lay.

Lovely Mama! I love her chicken saddle too

Labelle is a great name for a polish...ala Patty LaBelle, who did some BIG hair back in the day?

Some of my young olive eggers, Ameracauna x Marans. Excited to see what shade they will lay. These I bred. I purchased an olive egger hen from a hatchery, but I'm not all that impressed with the shade of her eggs.

Leedy - none of the crosses you posted will result in an olive egger.  You might get green, mint, or even a blue from your EE hen if you are lucky.  If you want olive eggs you'd do best crossing Welsummers or some type of Marans with a pure Ameraucana or Cream Legbar.

i guess i can skip all the mess ... because im not a breeder and not interested that much to work on breedibg them... ill just have to see about purchasing some OEs know anyone that ship chicks.. chickens like already about 15weeks?

I am currently breeding them, but I am not going to sell any until I see that the eggs from my first batch turn out olive like they should. I have several 3 month olds right now, some younger as well. Once I get a good egg color I will sell some. I bought one from My Pet Chicken, but wasn't that excited about the color, it's olive, but not as dark or bright as I'd like .

Does anyone breed frizzled olive eggers?
Im looking to purchase some hatching eggs next spring (march-april)
Prefer 2nd generation or more but would definitely consider 1st gen
