The Olive-Egger thread!

My olive egger and Easter egger turned 30 weekend yesterday, and still nothing. The polish that's the same age as them I think started laying two weeks ago, and a red star that's a week younger then them hasn't started laying either :(. Between 14 hens, I get 0-1 egg a day from my other red star lol.

Having similar issues with my pullets I hatched this year, only my olive egger laying out of five girls, and they are 30 weeks! Out of 14, I only have four layers right now, due to molt, too young, not laying yet, etc........But I have hope my other four pullets will start soon, they look ready, so maybe.

I've got you beat! LOL My olive egger will be 41 weeks at the end of this week. She is not showing any signs at all of planning to lay an egg. When she was around 6 months the rooster was interested in her, but now even he has given up. She'll be a year old in February. If she doesn't lay by then I'll just assume we have a "pet" OE and not one that actually produces eggs. Her sisters started laying in August and in October (I don't own any of the sisters). She is the bird in my avatar. Perhaps being rumpless has affected her egg production abilities, but I'm not really sure. She is F2 1/4 Amerauacan 3/4 Black copper marans.

Gypsy, my only OE, was jealous of the Polish, so she grew a teeny crest. She's (supposed to be) a Marans/Ameraucana 3rd gen Olive Egger.

I'm getting some Marans/Isbar (MarBar) eggs for the New Years Hatch -a - long. Can't wait to see what their eggs look like :)

Looks like Gypsy has some Legbar in her! Her crest looks like my CL's.

Yeah, she does look like that! The seller I got the eggs from did have Legbars, too. I guess there was a sneaky rooster!
Not necessarily a sneaky Rooster. A lot of breeders do not wait more than 30 days to let the eggs clear from the last rooster.

She is lovely!

She is very Cream Legbar like. Do you have a full body pic of her?
