The Olive-Egger thread!

Came home to this little guy. Others are part way out now too. Couldnt get a shot of them without opening the top.

I've got 5 up and walking so far, one just hatched and is resting. I ended up assisting one. It pipped in the middle of the side. Its head wasnt lined up under the wing and its butt was facing the air sack.

There is seven now. Two were struggling a bit and getting stepped on by the 5. I put them into the brooder. They look like baby marans with feathered legs too!

Moved those 4 to the brooder. There were 3 more that had pipped and 3 that hadn't. A quick candle revealed 2 that died about a week ago. The third looks right, but I didn't see any movement. I had put a few eggs in a day later, so i think it's those that are just now pipping.

Congrats!!

I like to leave them in equal groups if possible, so I don't put a single in with the brooder group.

So what is the cross you're hatching?
