Ok so may shoot myself over this I bought this awful incubator called a janoel12 which I understand is not great
so I did order a 2362E - Electronic Thermostat Hova-Bator it is not here yet
the eggs in it are from black sex-link and easter eggers nad a couple pbr eggs
dad is f-1 olive egger who's mom is a blue ? maran dad is a easter egger
I have an email off to his breeder be be more certain of that

I have had bad luck with my oliver roos. I used to save back the pretty ones with lineages that should have good color production, but they all grew up to be jerks. It's like they were manic and angry.
Hens from the same crosses were fine though. It's a bummer, because they look so cool, but I stick with marans roos for my crosses now. I also have found that crossing a green/blue egg gene roo over dark eggs hens makes lighter eggs than the reverse.

My most beautiful marans x ameraucana mix cockerel is the same way - manic and angry is a good way of putting it. Too bad because he's absolutely stunning

A few of my OE girls are acting different. I have a feeling I'll be seeing eggs soon. They walk in and out of the nesting boxes slowly several times like they're trying to decide which one they like best. Sometimes they just sit there in the nest box singing and clucking. They squat down and get real tense if I place my hand on their backs, and they are singing very loudly while walking through the coop/run lately. I am very excited about what color/shade I'll get from them.
