Only one of my three Chicks hatched the other two pipped the wrong end of the eggs my fault I put them in upside down (first time incubating ever) until the 18th day. My other babies are 3 weeks old and our next hatch isn't due for 10 days. Should I have my husband pick a couple up from the feed store or can she wait is it stressful to be the only one, she seems really lonely and keeps looking at me through the little window?? I feel terrible?

Chicks always want a companion to be with, especially when that young. It takes them a couple days to get over it. Usually giving them your attention will keep the chick happy. If you don't have the time then I would recommend day old chicks. Do the 3 week old chicks get along with it?

The three week olds haven't met her yet she is inside just hatched this morning and I have them in there little area outside.. I called around and found some babies that also hatched this morning and will be picking them up on friday.. So she won't be lonely for to long.. My daughter has been sitting at the incubator talking to her since she got home from school and she actually lost a tooth yesterday and wants to spend her tooth fairy money on a friend for the "Only one".. So sweet...

I had a incubation batch where only one hatched. She bacame an inside chicken and I just treated her like a regular pet. She got to walk around, hang out eating treats, etc.

She ended up hating the outside and wanted nothing to do with other chickens but she liked the dog.

I kept my first Chicks in the bathroom for like 6 months and then they were inside outside chickens for the next 6 months needless to say my husband was at his limit with me and they have been out in the coop ever since but man are they friendly!! They will hop right up on anyone's laps and anytime I'm outside they follow me tripping me up, waddling between my steps! I love that there so friendly but the bird poo in the house and all that I couldn't do agian.. lol

The first time we had chicks they got so used to us that once they went outside they would knock on the backdoor to come in and pull at our pants to see if we had special treats. Too cute!

Our flock now will just walk in the house anytime the door is open. It’s just a normal thing in our house to have a 2ft tall, 18lb chicken walking around haha. We have Brahmas, RIRs and a duck.
