Darcy was waiting by the abandoned church, tapping her fingers on the stone. I am not waiting much longer, she thought. What's their game? She waited twenty more minutes, then started toward Scar's apartment. One man she passed had the unfortunate urge to wolf-whistling at her. She flicked her arm out and tossed him through a window without even looking at him.

Akemi called someone, and she spoke with them briefly in another language. Within ten minutes she arrived.
"I never thought you would come back, my lady." The woman bowed gracefully. "After Midnight's murder I was sure that you would never return."
Akemi smiled a little. "Velika," She placed a fist over her heart and bowed her head for a moment, "I would never forget this place."
"That is well, my lady. I can begin now, is that fine?"
"Yes, of course it is. I need to go round up my old allies anyway. I'll be back in an hour. When you are finished, you may leave."
"Yes, my lady." Velika bowed, and walked into a kitchen as Akemi walked out the door. She covered herself with the shadows, moving about silently and slowly, with elegant, snakelike quickness.
 
Darcy kicked open the door to Scar's apartment. She quickly walked through the rooms, decided that he had not been there for hours, and left, running to Akemi's apartment.
 
When Darcy reached Akemi's apartment, she placed her hands and one ear on the door, searching for any vibrations or noises that would be created by an alarm system. Detecting nothing, she picked the lock and strode inside.

Akemi briefly spoke to the Undertaker. He nodded, murmuring something in reply.

Returning to the previous area, she saw Velika had gone. She went up to the third floor, looking for something.
 
Akemi dashed back down the stairs, surprised. "Yeah?" She replied, leaning cooly against a wall. Her expression was unreadable, as were her eyes.
 
Darcy ran through the apartment, taking only seconds to examine each room. When she decided that Akemi was gone too, she gave a shriek of frustration that cracked the windows of the room she was in. Furious, she ran out of the apartment and slammed the door behind her, which caused the cracked windows to fall out of their panes. She leaped onto a rooftop and headed towards the Undertaker's place.
