Jadyn revived Zaid. She grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the creek. Zaid could see Queen struggling against the current.

Queen couldnt struggle anymore. Water filled her mouth and a sharp pain in her shoulder scared her. The man had shot her again.
But Midnight was there. She tore the gun from the mans hand and tossed it to zaid. Midnight dove in the water

Zaid caught the gun and pointed it at the man, "Don't move!" he ordered. His hand shook, he hadn't held a gun in a long time.

Midnight came out of the river, on her hands and knees, Queen in her arms. "it is her fault! she stole my moneymaker wolf!" he pulled another firearm and raised it to Midnight. Midnight remembered something. This was the man that had shot her when she was young. He pulled the trigger and hit midnight in the shoulder.
