"No! I'm not leaving you! Jadyn take Queen back to camp!" He knelt beside Midnight, "How muchj do you wheigh?"

"Zaid... please, do as I say..." She gasped. "Zaid, please." She brushed a hand over the small cut on his cheek. "Please."

"I'll kill you too!" the man aimed the gun and fired. "Zaid! Watch out!" Midnight got up and jumped in front of him, taking the bullet straight to her heart. "Very touching! What, you think you're a warrior in shining armor or something?" He laughed. "Don't come near!" She cried, blood pooling from her mouth.

Zaid lay on the ground a little dazed. He sat up and saw Midnight covered in blood. He jumped up but the man shooved him back down and held him there by his foot.
