The People You Meet

I love having folks over to check out our farm. They are always amazed at all of our pets. We just had a vary sweet couple stop by to purchase white silkie bantam chicks. They were from Russia and wanted to start a small flock for their grand kids to play with. I am always amazed at the unique and interesting people we have met thru our chickens. Weather we go to a farm to visit or purchase, or folks come to visit us. We always ramble on for much longer than intended. It has been so much fun for my family and I to encounter such nice people such as the ones here on BYC.

We have a guest house and a plant nursery on our farm. Sometimes we have guests/customers who are interested in the chickens and then I drag them down here to meet the boys and girls. They are often amazed by how tame my flock is. I showed a nursery customer a newly hatched chick recently. His face was a picture. I think I got a few people interested in keeping chickens.
My pigs also went down very well with them. Especially when my sow had babies.
