How do the budgies do in your winters? I used to work at Petsmart and back then, I would refuse to sell you any budgies if I knew you would have them outside! That was about 18 years ago and obviously I have learned a lot since then. But doesn't it get too cold for them?

What are you going to do with all the boys?
Will they turn in to pricks?

i hope they won’t but i guess it could happen. i looked again today and jalapeño is a girl!! so i now have equal number of boys and girls. I guess i will just have to put a plan in place to separate and sell or give away any problem boys

they have acclimated really well overall so far but we haven’t hit below 20 yet. we added a shed to their aviary with heat that we try to keep between 45-60* they can fly in and out through a window in the door.

Now that all 5 babies are feathering out, Momma (Bella) is venturing outside more to eat, perch, and preen herself! Luckily she has a leg band so I can spot her more easily!!!!

just checked the babies and it looks like the 2 solid white ones are albino i can’t tell yet if they are blind does anyone have experience with albino budgies???

What is DeKuyper and Razzmatazz?

Just looked it up and apparently with budgies it’s a different gene so they’re not usually blind or anything.
