well the only birds i've ever had but i'm having so much fun raising my first bunch of chicks! Who knew barred rocks and buff orpingtons had such a sweet disposition?

You're right, very pretty chicks! All except that last pic - Heaven knows what kind of horrible mix that one is!

Also, your BR looks pretty boyish to me, too - but darned cute!

what makes him look boyish his comb? i hear peeps talkin about pointy feathers on a Roo can anyone explain which feathers they mean?

Well I could have told how sweet BRs and BOs are...lol!! Mine are both wonderful birds. It does look like your BR is a little boy...and most likely your RIR. Hard to tell on EEs for a while, although his/her coloring (which is gorgeous) makes me suspicious.

On your BR, he has such a defined comb already...girls at that age (5-6 weeks???) typically have a very minimal comb. One area to look at (although at this age wouldn't show up) is right before the tail starts on the back. Boys start getting pointier feathers that hang down, girls feathers there are more rounded and don't really droop down...they're more compactly arranged (at least to my eye).
