So, I’m on day 18 with 8 eggs developing. It’s really windy and rainy, and the lights have flickered a few times already. Any ideas on what to do if it does go out? I read a thread on here where someone suggested using hand warmers, so I’ll do that if I have to. Thanks in advance.

Depending on your budget and what you have access to really. You can start with wrapping the incubator in a towel or blanket for short term. Hand warmers are pretty brilliant, they last for hours depending on which one you find, only thing is there's kind of a curve to the heat, very hot and then it slowly cools off, I actually but them in bulk for transporting chicks to buyers. If you have enough spare money you can purchase a battery back up source, they can be charged in your car if needed as well. On that note you can also get a plug converter for electronics for the "cigarette lighter" DC power points in your car as well. Is your stove gas by any chance? Heating well cleaned stones would work as well.

Luxurious, but doesn't help without electricity ☹️
Well I hope the power stays on for you! I'd definitely run out and get some hand warmers if you can. If you have an ice chest you could boil some water, fill some bottles and store them in there just in case?

Thanks! We have hand warmers ✅
Maybe could I use a big cooler?

Definitely wouldn't hurt! Better to be over prepared than under for sure. I hope everything going smoothly, so stressful to go into lockdown with power issues. I did several hatches last year during heavy hurricane and tropical storms. I was so VERY lucky we only had very short outages. I'll be sending positive energy your way!
