  OMG! We did go to my friend’s house down the street behind us and also down to the pond down the street but those are all pretty close/in the neighborhood and I didn’t start doing that till maybe middle school or like 12ish? Idk.

:thI walked 3/4 of a mile to school by myself when I was 7. I used to ride my bike up 7-8 miles away from home to the waaaaay other side of town after dark. Parents really aren't doing their kids any favours by keeping them so close. No wonder so many 20-30 year olds have such a hard time making decisions and taking full responsibility for themselves and their actions.

OMG! After dark!? all our friends always used to get driven over or we’d drive to them and we weren’t even that far technically. Couple miles maybe? Seemed far to us though. Even the one behind me would occasionally get picked up. I never thought it was weird but after reading how far you all went, I guess it kind of was!

Also our school actually had a rule that if you were under a certain age, an adult had to be at the bus stop to pick you up. Which was really kind of dumb because the bus stop was at the end of our neighborhood and we could have walked but they wouldn’t let you go and would make you ride all the way back to school if no one was there.

What in the literal world of what!? That is probably the most dumb thing I have ever heard!

To be fair I think it was mostly like the real little kids like kindergarteners and stuff but I think it continued through like 2nd or 3rd grade too maybe? Pretty old by then. It was dumb 😂🤣 you would literally have to finish the whole rest of the bus route then ride all the way back then get picked up at the school. We had to do it a couple times if they’re even just a little late. 🤦‍♀️

WOW, my school had no such rules growing up
