“Lapper” turkeys? You’ve peaked my curiosity. Explain.

She rescued Daisy her Blue Slate hen from traffic. She then went and bought a Bourbon Red hen, Annie, to keep her company. Daisy was always the dominant hen and would take offense if the other hen would take her place on @memphis' lap. Both were loved by the neighborhood causing multiple visits from her neighbors and their children. I believe that it was last year that Annie passed. She replaced her with more hens which is a story of its own.

Turkeys come in three varieties..

lappers
Lurkers
Bellybuttons

Lappers want to be held and are like dogs..as R2elk described her. She wanted to be center of all attention.

lurkers want to hang around people but don’t want to be held or touched

Bellybuttons are jerks and end up on tables at Thanksgiving.. they are named for the other sphincter muscle that you only have one off. Which is the one they should be named for, but BYC has standards... so we softened the name
