The RE-Build of Les Farms

Here is the revised barn exterior appearance. With the large chicken barn part, there wasn't enough equal support to do the last way. Pretty isn't it? :) It may have to be reverted (like the big part on the left and the slope on the right) but it should be similar (but larger) to this picture.

Dutch door ideas.
I have a dutch door going into the coop--I love, love, love it! I hope to talk my DH into building a screen so i can use it this summer for cross ventilation. The barn is just beautiful! I would use the faux loft window as more ventilation--so maybe a way to open/close it from the ground?

Love the updates!! Thanks for posting pictures of the babies, they're exactly what I needed to see. The spirit of rebuilding and rising out of ashes, it's all like medicine to us observers. Such beautiful chickens. Thanks aoxa.

Yes for sure :) They help me overcome the trials of this whole experience.

Yesterday was not a good day though. Clean up started and it was way more traumatic than I ever thought possible,

I love this thread. I still can't imagine what you are going through with this loss..
If I could offer any advice, it's this;
"Change never comes without a price. Without change, there would be no butterflies."

I am so sorry the price you had to pay for this change is so traumatic.
I can't wait to watch this rebuild, though. And all the little butterflies that come with it. :)

ohgod, don't look!
The person who did it is an awful person and a terrible business man. I will NEVER use my FIL's friends ever again.. Let's just put it like that.

Pretty much everything is gone today. He didn't do the job right, and his customer service was appalling: Going so far as to say: "You'll get over it" when we said we were unhappy with how he did things. Yes. Disgusting isn't it?
aoxa............... so glad I stumbled onto your thread.

Miss chatting with you so much.
Miss you too Celtic! I just have nothing to talk about in the geese thread right now. All I have are chickens. Jamie is holding two pairs of grey toulouse for me. No buff around here anywhere. I'll have to import again if I want them. Maybe a few years down the road..
