The RE-Build of Les Farms

Cool! Were they on vacation?
They were at the breeders. She held them for us even though they were ready to leave in March and pretty much gave them to us. We just paid what it cost to feed them. Very cool.

They are still kind of stressed from the move, and are very needy to humans. They aren't playing yet. We did make them a mountain in the barn out of bales of shavings as the rain falling here right now is quite unbelievable. We're getting the after effects of Hurricane Andrea. My yard looks like a giant puddle.

I moved the silkies all in the pens in the chicken part of the barn. Chicks are in the brooder. Just realized I have 6 brooders and only 4 ecoglows.

They'll settle down with time and your care.

You might find other equipment lacks as you go along. This barn is bigger, or at least configured for more animals, than the old one, correct?

Not really. We have more people and storage room in this barn. I believe our animal rooms were a about the same.

They have really settled in the past two days. Really starting to open up. Both hate our dogs with a passion. They'll get over it :p

Great work

you've put so much into the detail.
Glad to hear you're getting Houdans again, they are so cool.
It apears as though you have set the barn envy bar really high for all of us now. We'll all have something to strive for.
Thought we might have seen you at the sale in Petti but we were there early and gone by 9.
Take care and best of luck. if not luck at least great weather.

We weren't at the Petit sale this year. Too much temptation with an unfinished barn :p

we just picked up 20 Mottled Houdan chicks and 15 Easter Eggers. Also have some of the prettiest Barred Plymouth Rocks in the area!

PS: I still really want some Muscovies. If you have any extras for the fall sale, can you keep us in mind? Unless you are coming up to Moncton area before for whatever reason. They are the only duck breed we plan on going back into. I loved the personality of them.

That roo is gorgeous!
Thank you. I am so grateful. We contacted a breeder that I have been itching to get in contact with. He has a strain of barred rocks that has ringlet barring. He gave us a trio for free and 40 hatching eggs. We bought another trio for backup. They are really something else.. Very slow to mature, but totally different from any barred rocks I have ever raised.
