Goat with a stalker ;)

A few new additions. Four goats and an alpaca now.

Alice, Marvin, Delphena and Tabitha are the goats. Vivian is the Alpaca.

The barn in Autumn

Are you going to do the runs outside? Maybe waiting for breeding season in the spring?
I'm not even sure I will need runs. This winter is expected to be very snowy. I doubt they would even go out at all. We are going to use the baby barn for a breeding pen as well. I have Silkies, Barred Plymouth Rocks, Silver Pencilled Plymouth Rocks, Mottled Houdans and a pair of Buckeyes to breed. I have 7 breeding pens. Four are small though... I would put a pair of buckeyes in one and separate the rest for silkies - who have been in them since we moved them out. The silkies refuse to go outside despite many efforts..

I think I'll use the three large pens (baby barn, 12 x 6 and 12 x 4) breeding pens for the Rocks and Houdans.

I will likely build the outdoor breeding pens for the silkies for next summer after snow is gone.. They are terrified of our standard chickens, so refuse to go out.. I think a covered pen may help get them motivated to go out.

Hey, I was just wondering how things were going for you, Aoxa! Looks like things are well! :)

Have the goats moved into the large livestock room yet, or are you still waiting for the water to be installed? Also, how is Henry turning out as a livestock guardian? Looks like you have some big boys in your flock, too! I don't know if it's the angle of the picture, but it looks like you either have giant goats and chickens or a teeny-tiny alpaca. But then, I don't really know how big alpacas are supposed to be, so maybe it's just my perception.

Anyway, as always, beautiful pictures! :D

The alpaca is just a baby. She's 5 months old. :)

Aoxa, you are just amazing! You can see the love and passion you have for your animals just by looking at your posts, plus you are like the top farm animal picture taker ever! Lol. Keep up the good work, and your beautiful farm!
