"Yeah... Fine," she answered. Rose didn't know if she could trust him yet. Actually, she didn't know if she could trust anyone at all. She knew that if she told someone the things she had been hearing and seeing and feeling, than the city might get worried and 'take care' of her.

Rose took a deep breath. "Have you.... Have you been seeing things? Hearing things?" she ventured, hoping, praying that he wouldn't see this question as a threat.

"Like... say... uh... the power's been going out and stuff? You know?" she continued, somewhat lying. This wasn't all that she had been seeing, there was much more.
 
"Wes? Where are you?" Maya asked quietly as she peeked in his room. "Right here." He replied blankly. "What's up?" He asked still reading one of his comic books. "It happened again. The pain came back and the lights flickered." Maya sat on his bed. Wes nodded. "I saw the lights flicker, too." He paused. "Let's go for a drive." He put the comic book down and grabbed the keys to his truck. Maya followed; holding her throbbing head

Kendall blinked. The light were off when she blinked again. Then they came on once se blinked again. She screamed and ran to Dustins house then thought again about talking to him in person. So, she walked to the mall. (Which was only about a mile from her house.) She had about 75 bucks to spend. She went to Pretzel Palace and sat down. She ordered two pretzels and a coke. While she ate she kept thinking about the whole light thing. She sighed. As she blinked the lights went off again. Then they came back on. "What the h**l?" She said to herself. Kendall raced to Shoe Dept. to get those shoes she wanted before the lights did their "thing" again. She got the shoes and ran back home.

"Well yeah, but that was just the power grid," Jaden said, quoting the City's excuse, even though he didn't believe it.

Kat entered the mall with Jenna. They were going through the clothing department when the lights went off. It was about a minute before they came back. She turned to her friend.
"Did you see that?"
Her friend shook her head.
"The lights went out," Kat elaborated.
Jenna still had a confuse look on her face. "Are you all right, Kat? Did you hit your head or something?"
Kat shook her head. "No, I'm fine." she shrugged and continued browsing.
