Kendall woke up with a very sharp pain in her shoulder. She started to cry. She out of bed after the pain was gone and put on skinny jeans and a green blouse. She texted Kat "I know we're not the best of friends but I would like you to come over after school. Sound like a plan?" She pressed send and went to eat breakfast.

"Maybe a month ago, if even that." Kat responded. She sat up, resting back on her elbows. She had a nasty headache, and was trying hard to think.

"Same," said Kestrel, standing up and beginning to pace, "Something's happening. At first, I thought it was insanity, but I've always thought that if i was going insane I wouldn't think I was. And now there's you. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's real. But what's happening is separate from here, like another world, or consciousness. So, if that's real, then there's the possibility that this place – this entire world – isn't real. As if it's a hallucination, and we're grasping reality." She turned to Kat, pausing, "I've been thinking it over for a while. Since it started, actually."
