Sam stiffened in alarm. A faint ripple passed over his skin; he had shifted himself from flesh and blood into wax. He looked at Chelly and said,"What are you going to do, kidnap me?"

"No one is kidnapping anyone, boy. Kaor, I am Tars Tarkas, better known as Austin, leader of the Rebellion. And you are?" The creature asked, crossing one set of arms and putting the other set on his hips as he looked at Sam with greenish-gold eyes. A strange looking gun was on his back and several spears and knives hung at his waist.

"As I have just told your friend, my name is Sam, I am an enemy of the power just like you, and I am no threat to you or your camp. I also really need to get back to my home; I have a hungry family to feed. Is it all right if I go?"
