I cannot take credit completely for the design. I copied good parts from many of the coops/runs in the chicken coop section of the website. That is one heck of a resource.

I also had a request about the 1/2" by 1" wire. Here is a picture that kind of shows what it looks like up close. It definitely is better visually and in my humble opinion does not sacrifice much if any safety.

It looks GREAT!!! One suggestion would be to block off the area under the coop w/ hardware cloth--nailed securely to the building and then staked into the ground 2 feet out. Otherwise, predators can chew through the bottom.

If you look at the bottom edge of the screen on this picture, you can see where the 1/2" by 1" wire ends at the bottom and the hardware cloth begins and extends out under the ground. I definitely took this on before we added the bore under the edge of the coop. It is there now.
