"Okay. Can Splash and I go see Heather?" Ella asked. "I have a crush on him." Ella whispered to Mason and giggled, looking at Splash, who was looking around.

Mason looked at the bantam. "Very well. Come, you two" he said, starting to walk away. "I need to tell Heather if you passed or not. Then we can continue to work tomorrow."

"Okay." Ella and Splash said in unision. They followed Mason.

When they got to camp, Heather was pacing around the Oak Tree in the center of camp. She looked up at Mason, not noticing Splash, and smiled. She flew into the tree. Mason looked down at them. "Stay right here. ill be back shortly." and he flew into the tree.

Ella turned to Splah. "Where have you been?" she asked. " wandering around, looking for you."

Murmurs could be heard in the tree. then they got more frantic. Then they just stopped. Mason's deep voice could be heard, then Heather. Her voice was nervous, almost scared.

Ella and Splash looked up. "think there's something wrong?" he asked Ella.

Heather could be heard talking frantically. Mason's voice calmed her and she could be heard taking deep breaths. There was a bit more talking. Then Mason flew out. "Ella" he said. "Come, we are going out to gather. BarrenTime is almost upon us. You" he looked at Splash. "Go talk to Heather."

eragon was running until he came to the green part of the woods outside of the burn't part and started walking slower, now that he was so far away he didn't need to worry about them finding him
