"Your service will end after you have paid" Heather shouted, then flew into the tree to signal that the meeting was over.

he followed her then asked "what does that mean?"

"Eragon, to 'pay services' means that you will become a servant to the flock" Heather explained.

"i know what that means, i meant the 'when you have paid' part, what does that mean?" he said trying to be more elaborate on what he didn't understand

"It means that when i feel that you have paid for what you have done, then i will take away your punishment"

"oh, ok... how do i know when a chicken wants help?" he asked her

"They will call for you." she said. "But you must always help them, no matter what it is"

"ok... thank you for your generosity" he said bowing and then he glided to the ground, sat down and waited.
