You know it, I know it too.
Keeping chickens is relaxing… But it also has its challenges and heartbreaks. The worst of these being losing our feathered friends.

This thread is for help, healing, and comfort from each other.

Please post pictures and stories of the precious ones you’ve lost.

Let’s all comfort each other!💞💞❤️‍🩹

This is my sweetheart, Goldilocks, my Gold Laced Wyandotte.
I lost her to a raccoon.🥺😢
Thankfully she left behind a legacy of 13 chicks.

I have actually lost a TON!
It’s very heartbreaking.
I will post as many as I have pictures of.

Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy.

Thick as thieves.
Only twice, from the time that they where 2 weeks, until 22 weeks, I only saw them grazing separately.

Far too many..12, not including those never meant to be in the flocks.
I loved them all, but here are the ones that truly broke my heart to see pass.

Spatch-My very beautiful Bielefelder boy and excellent roo. This hurt my soul.

Zoomer- sweet girl lost to a predator 3 wks ago.

Nugget-Bielefelder (All 6 Biels are gone- mostly reproduction problems.

Donald, aka Red devil, lil red hen- Fat thing with 2 inch legs! She was reason I installed handicap ramps to the roosts. I buried her and planted red roses.

Livvy, aka La-la Livvy. This one was special. Bielefelder. The sweetest, most distracted chicken ever to live. She was a wanderer. Died of EYP.
