The Rhodebar thread!

Pics
That's what I thought. Pero, el color en esa photo es lo que queremos sin el blanco ¿no?

ETA: English: But, the color in that photo is what we want without the white, right?
si, eso es lo que uno quiciera en un gallo adulto. pero no creo que se pueda con un gallo que tenga dos copias del gen B/B..

thats what one could wish to have in a rooster(color wise) but I believe it will be very hard to obtain on a double barred male(B/B).. thats mostly due to the diluting effect of the barring gene..But.. they could be shown at shows without issues..

just so you guys can see how good Rhodebars can look when breed to RIR standars

this is the double barred male, Sire of the rooster I posted, both belong to Steeple Ducks Poultry

as you can see, double barring is one powerful diluter. so for show reasons one could use the single barred males, to show how cool they can look, but for autosexing one would have to use double barred males

I have a black sex-link that I was using for comparison and the rhodebar egg was actually a little bit darker and slightly less pink than the black star egg. I was surprised that the rhodebar egg was more brown than the sex linked egg. I will try and get some pictures to post.

wow nice, black sexlinks have RIR as Sires so if the rhodebar egg color is a little bit darker then thats a good sign
