The Rhodebar thread!

Hi I have a question I have my first Rhodebar eggs hatching (finally this is my thrid attempt ) But the colors don't look right I am attaching a picture not the best but you will see why I am confused.

I did not think Rhodebars could come out black

Looks like somebody may have mixed up eggs. Where did you get the eggs?

Woops, I thought you meant SFH, lol. Nope the black is not RB but could be SFH.

Well, update time. They are getting older. Looking more like hens. I really like the older lighter one..I want to keep her and sell the older darker one. The lighter one is the one everyone thought was a boy. I am thinking that if you are to breed for keeping the breed true, the lighter one is not the one to keep. But I love that ones coloring. In this first photo..the one that was a chipmunk is far left, first one. Then the cockerel roo..HRIR..waiting for him to crow..4 months old now..?? Then the light one is the RB that I'm keeping, her head is down eating. A RIR at far right. Her and the cockerel are always together.

Not great photo below, cockerel, RIR pullet..and the light one I like, and the dark RB.

Well, there are a few..shucks, didn't get any of the other pullet that is about a month younger. A different breeder than the one I got these from.

Here is a photo of the two RB's at hatch. The darker one, and the liking today. No white spot!
