Thought I'd share some pics of our 4.5 month old Rhodebar roosters. They've just been sold to their new owners today as mice catchers at a local Sikh temple. Their father is a RIR and mother is a Legbar.

Oh poop! I read somewhere that a Rhodebar was considered an RIR crossed with a barred chicken, which is obviously wrong. Should I delete my post? That combo doesn't make rhodebars but they're pretty![]()
I would like to confirm the information previously posted here. Perhaps you can post pics of the chicos. The combo has produced a lovely batch of chickens with a sweet temperament.
Sorry to get back to you so late. Not sure if you'll get to read this. Here is a pic of a male (left) and female (right) chick of the RIR father X LG mother mix. The male had a very faint head spot, and the female had a very faint dark line on her head. Other than that they appeared wheaten at birth.I would like to confirm the information previously posted here. Perhaps you can post pics of the chicos.
e+/eWh B/b+ males dont show any headspot due to the power of Wheaten
At least that has been the case for Rhodebar/RIR cross F1 chicks posted by some breeders that were enhancing the color and type of GFF Rhodebars with Show Quality RIR stock
They seem to be mostly an abandoned breed. Lots of us used to have them . . .
