Woah, I just realized I've been telling the riddle wrong all this time... INSIDE the cabin there are over 100 people dead. OUTSIDE the cabin there are two men dead

Nope. They all died at the EXACT same moment. Inside and out of the cabin. Here's another clue: the cabin isn't what you're thinking it is. Its not a building
