I hate to say this but, judging from these pics, they look as normal as rain to me. I don't see flaky or greasy yellow stuff...just normal pin feathers growing out and the waxy coating they would normally have. When feathers are new and emerging they can look a little waxy but that is pretty normal at one stage of the process. That casing starts to harden off pretty soon and will shed, then you will see all these white flakes and scales coming off them but please don't freak...that's normal too.

Their skin looks very clean and the feathers look healthy....I'm not seeing anything wrong in these pics. I do see some yellow looking oil but it could be just a part of their feather regrowth, particularly along the top of the tail.

Wow, ok, I was worried. Wish I could Star Trek you here to take a look.

Other than this appearance, they seem to act totally normal.

THANK YOU!

I'm so glad! Time takes care of a lot of things, I have found. What is that saying? "Time wounds all heels..." No, that's not it...that's the advice I give to my broken-hearted friends. Time heals all wounds..yeah, that's it! My memory is an elusive thing sometimes.....

All I have is text edit (I think) and I think it's kind of cumbersome.  Maybe I have to get Microsoft Office for Macs??

Sheila

Apple's version of Word is called Pages. It might already be on your machine. I haven't used Open Office, but have heard it's good.

TextEdit is surprisingly good for basic stuff -- cutting and pasting, basic page set-up, etc.
You might find it's all you need.

Edited to add: MS Office for Mac is famous for being bloatware -- very slow and takes a ton of memory. The newest version might be better, I don't know.

And remember Macs can function perfectly well as PCs. You need to buy Windows and use a virus protection program while in PC mode. I haven't done this as Windows is expensive and the Mac does everything I need.

Oh, and Pages can save your work as a Word document, .rtf, or PDF as well as in Pages format.

Wouldn't that be cool? Catherine wants me to travel around and charge for consults to eyeball people's flocks and setups and give advice....which would be the funnest thing in the world, but I'd have a hard time charging folks money for something like that. Getting paid to have fun? Unreal.

That is exactly how I felt when I started working when I left High School. My parents let me chase my dream and work with racehorses. It never was work, every single day was pleasure. And I got paid to do it. Wish we got paid raising these kids!

OH GREAT!! Now I'm going to have the Star Trek theme music in my head all night long!!! (Not your fault Melabella, I just get a jukebox thing going in my head when I try to get to sleep.) Maybe three fingers of red eye will short circuit the jukebox. Hmmm... perhaps???
