Pretty much wnat Rachel said...

1.) Nurses are very inquisitive
2.) Old Bats are very clean
3.) Culling a chicken doesn't "have" to be messy
4.) Pay Attention to your birds
5.) Time will take care of a lot of things
6.) Don't sweat the small stuff
7.) Quit staring at the poop
8.) Nu Stock will cure just about all skin disorders, plus some others!!

Too much to list here, and some stuff I've gotten from the OT thread, I keep mixing the two up!!

I'm on my phone so I can't go back and find your Johnny cakes naming posts but I think a
"Mad Vent?" cake is a must!!!

Ok, seriously, I know this has to be a coincidence, or related to the natural order of returning from molting, but after August, September and October getting 2 eggs a day from 8 hens, I got 4 eggs today. After starting the FF on Tuesday!
Double my production after 3 days of FF. This is using less than 25% of the normal amount of dry feed for feedings!!!!
I'm sold. Coincidence or not!

I keep hoping the FF will work its magic on my old flock but the eggs are still scant and few....I don't know if the shock of the poor care threw them into permanent menopause or what, but I'm still hoping they will come back from the ashes and start to show some life in the old loins yet.

HAH! That is too funny! The thing is I would want to put that image of the one that was photo shopped with the mustache on the package. It cracks me up!
I have cut and pasted to a folder every Johnny Cake name everyone has posted.
I need to come up with a very special "Mad Vent" recipe. Maybe using red pepper and black pepper?

FF question:
My 3 month old kitten is obsessed with the FF manufacturing area. He will eat it and drink the back slop if given the opportunity. I keep the lid on it when I am not stirring or straining, but invariably he always gets a blob of it each time.

Should I be concerned?
(now, if he starts laying eggs, I will be giving it to him in his own bowl!

I don't think it could hurt him. Most cat foods are grain based, so it's probably not too far off his kitten foods. Could make him a much healthier little guy, who knows?

And I'm thinking you are right! She always tells me that I'm put together cheap. And I always remind her that she and Dad were the ones to "put me together".

It doesn't matter. Yep, those are the same kind...just plain ol red pepper flakes. Was doing some reading about black pepper the other day and it was mentioned as a dewormer as well. I bet I don't have a worm one...everything I eat has to have a gallon of both in the bowl. Bee likes it HOT!!!

Bee what about cayenne pepper ground fine, can that be used on top of feed?
