Thanks ... went to "Judge's Days" in Kentucky, which is a huge swap/trader's meet. Didn't go to buy birds, as I never introduce outsiders to my birds (even switched out my clothes when I got home). But, there were gorgeous birds there, and -- despite knowing I'd not be buyin' what they had to sell -- several couldn't get over how good the pictures I showed 'em looked ... speakin' of which:

" 2 Barred Rocks, 2 RIR, 2 SLW, 2 Partridge Rocks,2 Golden Buffs, and 2 Sicilian Buttercups (big mistake)."

I was tryin' to ID the breeds I have, and some are suspected to be Sicilian Buttercups, which worries me a bit when you say, "Big mistake."

Gnarly Bunch Daily Update: Two eggs today...one was from my Little Red Hen. She is 6 yrs old and is laying nearly daily now, right in the middle of molt and natural slow down. What a trooper! She is the most inquisitive and friendly one of the bunch and is also Toby's fave...which also leaves the back of her head a little thin on feathers but she's holding in there.

Middle Sister's feet and ankles are definitely less swollen and inflamed in appearance today. Not my imagination. I really observed her today and watched her feet and her walking closely...it's really happening. She is also looking more...I don't know how to describe it exactly but I guess she looks more at ease and active. She even looks more smooth in her feathering and has a more upright stance. No hunching when she stands. I'll take pics soon so you all can see the difference. She just might have missed the cull on this one.

I love just seeing a smile! Most photos of my relatives are straight-faced...I think it was encouraged to not show emotion. I love to see some personality in photos! You should see my father's and brothers boot-camp military photos. Un-healthy looking and straight-faced. I would be constipated too if I was fed what they eat

I kept telling her to "look stern" but she kept looking constipated or like she was going to cry...she just couldn't seem to pull off looking stern.

Funny...she didn't have any problem with that when I was growing up.....
