Hello, I was wondering if there is any way to manipulate the behavior of rooster crowing (preferably in the morning)? Such as Ietting them out after sunrise or keep in the coop during the time the normally crow? I know the will crow regardless but if you can get them to do it latter in the morning (maybe not to piss off the neighbors).

Sadly i doubt it. Mine (he be gone) crows at two am till he asleep at 8pm, he a pain. I know there was a post about crowing colars which is suppose to make them not crow. One person is using a the tube of a five year olds sock, he/she said so far its worked but he keep updating on the experiment.

ok I live in a residential area an in the event one of my chicks is a rooster, I wanted to see if there is anything I can do before just getting rid of him.

I don't know if I'd put much faith into those crow collars. They aren't meant to stop the crowing but rather reduce the noise. I read about it once and that's what I gathered from the small print.

Every Rooster is a bit different. I had one that crowed in the morning. Whether he was in the coop or in the outside run, he crowed at the same time bright and early. He also crowed if he was separated from his hens. I was babysitting a flock of hens for a bit and that Rooster crowed all day long - I'm not even kidding! And he was loud. I was happy to see him go. Lol

Maybe keeping him in the coop until later in the morning will at least muffle the sound. You could always chat with your neighbors, too.

Mine six months and already has tried to attack me and he attacked my husband as well he stalks us, since we have a two year old and a baby on the way he going to the freezer once he gets abit bigger.
