I love them, especially the nice ones :love but I can respect the more aggressive ones...they do make it harder though.

I've got approximately 60 roosters, give or take a few. I just went through them and have somewhere in the vicinity of between 40-50 I'm keeping. The rest are culls that I'll be sad to see go because some have lovely temperaments. And the others need to go because they simply won't fit in with their aggression within the rooster community.

Stunning!

But I have to ask ... why so many roost? Breeding stock? Meat birds? Madness? Astounding! I wanna come visit your rooster farm!

These young pullets keep testing the older hens, hope nothing serious happens. The RIr pullet who has been acting very suspicious and awkward with the older ones has been squabbling with the big, higher birds, she better watch out, guess she is sick of being bottom bird.
I have found out she has been much more aggressive with the Cochin pullets and even has been trying to kill our injured hen,she is taking every little advantage.

Has anyone ever had hens turn their backs at roosters as well?I know they generally keep the pecking order well balanced and readily challenged when things get tossed around.
