The Run

I don't have to ever use a kitty litter scoop or mix it with a rake. I never have to remove poop from my run.

Nope. Never. I do get to harvest just as much black gold (compost) as I want. It is sweet, fragrant, and can be immediately put into the garden to grow huge crops of succulent veggies. Any poo bombs that get dropped into the litter are immediately churned into the DL by the birds.

Oh....so you do remove it.....just in a different form. I choose to just scoop and sift and throw it in the compost pile....takes less than 5 minutes a day. And the run and coop always stays nice and clean.

Thanks I think sand is the winner! will improve the amount of rain that gets in the run too!

I think you'll find it very neat and clean ( for a chicken run). When or if it does get wet you can just run a rake through it and it dries really quickly.

I use deep litter, my run is 8' x 24' I would hate to think how long it would take to scoop the poop every day for me.
