If im going to keep 8 chickens how much of a run will i need

If you go by the 10sq ft rule, then you'll need at least an 8x10 run. I have a 20x20 for 10 birds (three ducks) and I could easily fit 10 more in there. The bigger then run you can give them the happier they will be!
