After letting my flock free range for about 2 hours it started raining so I decided to put them away out of the rain. The poor little Silkies looked about 3 times smaller with their thick coat of fluff drenched! Even though it is raining it is 28 degrees C here so I’m not too worried about the cold. But they did not resist to going back to the coop so they must not have been enjoying the rain too much.

We have 2 resident scrub turkeys that like to visit our chicken coop. I don’t mind too much as long as they don’t get too close too my chickens or drink their water so they don’t spread any diseases, which they don’t seem to do anyway. I feel bad kicking them out because technically they were their first! 😄

Today my flock spent most of the day in their run instead of free ranging, because it is raining. I was worried that my older chickens would severely pick on the Silkies but they did very well and I didn’t see any of them even run at the little ones! I’m so proud of them.
